Sad Day in Educational India, The Vice Chancellor Termination Shocked Me.

The Educational India is weeping in rainy manners. No one can ever imagine the termination of University Vice Chancellor. Today is the real black day of The GURU, Educational India always boasting to be the lead teacher in universe. Just look again; I have used the word universe not globe or world.

The news is highlighting in all types of media, Visva Bharati VC removal news is made with sacks, sacking, sacked and synonymous words. The Visva Bharati Vice Chancellor termination approval is big black blot on Educational India. Immediate referring to Wikipedia has like mentions “On September 23, 2015, he was dismissed” which is wrong, The VC Sacking was recommended, actual dismissal approved by highest authority, the President of India, yesterday on Monday, Feb 15, 2016 surprisingly India press bureau has no mention in long lists of official releases.

Any way the miss conduct, financial regularity or whatever was an old story in media and government. The process of VC termination took more than a year time. Complete India is marred with malpractices and crime-scam news. Who take formal education seriously? Everyone simply chasing ANY WAY to get an Indian Educational Certificate or Degree. Which is in existence first? Why university chancellors are adopting zig-zag path? Here I put plural of VC, clearly indicating there are more cases caught or uncaught. I am putting these words with complete responsibility out of my first hand knowledge.

How will the Educational India react? I am not talking of verbal, online, social media reaction but what will be the impact on whole system? Who will care towards the hidden changes, may be positive or negative, in the complete Educational India scenario?

Becoming an IITian is the ultimate goal or means to a higher end?!!

The educational supremacy has finer and intricate elements too. The ultimate in education for any branch of education, Indian Institute of Technology is one of the most privileged institutions, not only in India but also recognized by the rest of the world.

The mere mention of the word ‘IIT’ draws awe-stricken responses and even visiting the institute once has its own importance to any person who values education. Hence it’s beyond any doubt that graduating from, rather, gaining an admission into an IIT makes proud not only the person himself and his parents, but also any other person associated with him in any way.

Becoming an IITian is indeed something to be very happy about, but the underlying issue, often forgotten after the achievement, is the stress that the student has gone through in order to achieve this. The complicated facades of educational helm has pinching inner problems too which were rare in discussion online.

The hidden dimensions of becoming an IITian requires elaborate research involving mass.

The next step pertains to running Educational Institute which professional aspect.

Students’ Spontaneous Responses to an Impromptu Topic Provided on the Spot

In a typical school week competition recently held in a school, a strange topic was given and students were asked to write their reactions in a few words. The subject and the top ten reactions were as follows:
The Subject: Can SMS (Short Message Service) language be allowed for students in an examination?

The reactions:
Student 1:  There has been a trend to spoil our old classic songs sung by great singers by preparing their remixes. Deforming exquisitely written material by using SMS language looks similar. There is no way I can support the topic.
Student 2: SMS is a time saver. Just like in a general language, idea is definitely conveyed and you save time too. So, why not? I shall go for it. Nowadays nobody has got time to beautify, explain and provide details. You think to the point and so you should be able to express fast. SMS is the fast way to write and to my thought it should be allowed in an examination.
Student 3: I think this is one point where convention confronts change. Writing explicitly and exquisitely are gone with the wind and writing and grasping fast are in. I am not with or without the opinion but expressing my opinion. So I shall take a path in between and say “Beauty lies in the I’s of the beholder” and it’s up to him/her what one takes and what one rejects.
Student 4: I remember the days when I was a first time chatter on the internet and could not make out the very first message sent to me. It read ‘ASN’. Many days later I came to know that it meant Age, Sex and Name. Day is not far when a student will write LOL at the end of an answer or draw a smiley to begin an answer. May be teachers will give questions like: Name the things required 4 photo Cnthesis
Student 5: Short-hand writing already existed but is it allowed in an examination to write the answers? It is not popular with teachers and students nor can be SMS style of writing. Since the conventional style of writing convinces well and gives a soothing feeling it can naturally be preferred.
Student 6: SMS writing is not as easy to understand as conventional style. You have to be on your toes to understand the SMS style writing. So it triggers your brain and keeps it active. My vote is definitely in support of the motion.
Student 7: Since SMS s are used over cell phones, consulting each other about study materials will be easier by way of sending and receiving salient points. To put it another way academic communication among students will improve.
Student 8: I wonder how there can be two angles to such a thought. I find it hard to take how someone can speak in favour of such a cruel idea that will completely wipe out the beauty of tradition, the authenticity of presentation and most importantly the thoroughness of explanation. With SMS language the questions and answers will look like broken pieces of a landscape which can never provide the same enchantment as the entire view.
Student 9: Examination is neither about sending and receiving messages nor about chatting and e-mailing. A part of it consists of language style and eloquence, clarity of expression and effective communication of one’s thoughts and ideas to the examiner. This can be done efficiently by conventional language only and never by SMS language.
Student 10:  Conventional language explains a fact and the main theme of the say is lost in the crowd of words. On the other hand with SMS mnemonics nobody would fiddle with the main idea of communication and would concentrate on passing the crux of the matter. QED.

What is education system? Public tutoring in organised way is ancient practice

Knowledge is bliss pondering over civilization even before human inception

Life without knowledge is like a barren land on which nothing can grow. Imparting knowledge is the best way in which a person can pass its skills, customs and values from one generation to another. The knowledge is spread among many with the help of an education system. An education system consists of a teacher, student, content of the subject being taught and context subsystem. Education system varies from place to place. The education system in India is quite different from that in America or Britain. However, the basic of any education system remains the same, that is, all the education system will have teachers, students, and content and subsystem context.

Teacher in an education system is the one who guides the others in their way of learning. Learning is a continuous process and everyone contributes to the learning of others. Right education is the only way to make people civilized and polite. A student is one who learns. In my view everyone in this world is a student as we keep learning every day. Student is one who needs guidance from their teacher to learn. Content in an education system is that which the student needs to learn whereas context is the setting in which one learns these contents.

While the basic of an education system remains same the content and the context always changes based on the place. The education system in India may not be similar to the one in USA or UK. Even in the same country the education system varies between the states.

The education system in India is much disciplined and well regulated. It is made compulsory from the government to give education to all children up to the age of 14. In India you can find two types of schools and colleges that is government or government funded schools and colleges and private schools and colleges. The schools provide a well-disciplined environment to learn. This makes students well-disciplined and dedicated towards their studies. Parents in India are very much concerned about their children’s education and make all the efforts to provide them the best possible education.
The educational system in India is considered one of the best in the world. This is proved by the fact that about 38% of the doctors in USA are Indians, same follows for other sectors like 12% of the scientists and 36% of the NASA employees are Indians. The educational structure in India is such that it starts from pre-school level and goes up to post doctoral degree. A study made in India showed some 7,40,000 schools with 3.6 million teachers to guide the students. We in India have about 175 universities which provide graduate and post-graduation courses and it does not stop here, affiliated to these universities are more than 6000 colleges.

The educational pattern followed in India is 10+2+3 which means here it is mandatory to have 10 years of formal education which provides them general education on all the subjects after which one qualifies for higher secondary or +2. In these two years of education the student are given the liberty to choose their subject of interest which will continue to be a part of their graduation and post-graduation courses. In +3 stage or also called the graduation stage the student specializes in their subject of interest. The mission and vision of the educational system in India is to provide all round development of the students so that they can excel in their career and life.

Today the Indian education system is lauded world over and most of the Universities in India has collaborated with the leading counterparts world over. Thus, it is now possible to give Indian students the education which is of international level without going out from the country. The present system of education in India has inspired the students all over the world and many of them prefer coming to India for their higher studies. Today in India we see large number of foreign students coming to India for studies. The main aim of any institution in India is to provide the student with knowledge and power to excel in whatever they do.

The commercialization of education in India generating hot selling business products for market

Is Education Business Now? Are Institutes Doing Less Teaching More Business? Several burning question on education trends are haunting specially on the commercialization aspect.

Non-profit nature always intended with education system, commercialization is never an element as per theory. Education in India has been institutionalized for a very long time now. The first instances of institutionalization of education in ancient India were the Gurukuls. The students went to live and learn at the guru’s ashram. Here all students were treated as equals, and princes and commoners stayed together for the entire period of their education. Each then went back to their professions and the guru stayed back at the ashram for the next batch of students. The ancient Gurukul system never mentioned of commercialization. Rama and his four brothers at Guru Vashishta’s ashram, Krishna and Sudama at Guru Sandipan’s ashram and the Kauravs and Pandavas at guru Dronachacharya’s ashram are some of the famous guru-shishya associations that we know of. Of these only Dronacharya is said to have used his position as guru to avenge his personal grouse against Dhrupad. Later on unlike the other gurus, he comes and stays in the capital of the Kauravs and therefore gets involved in the politics of the land. This is perhaps for the first time that a guru does not see imparting education as his sole mission in life. The impartiality of the teacher thus gets compromised as is borne by the later happenings in the Mahabharata; he became more of a courtier than a guru. May it can be termed as indirect educational commercialization.

Today there is a lot of commercialization in education in India. The factors have been many. Teaching ceased to be as respectable a job as that of a bureaucrat. Hence for most people it became the last choice rather than the first choice. Most people in education see it as a means of livelihood. There are but a few of them, who are in it for the love of the job, and these are today the handful of good teachers we remember long after we have left these institutions. Teaching by itself can be a very rewarding experience so why any one to think about the commercialization attached with it?

Today, however, the government run institutes are in a poor shape with almost no school or college buildings, very few teachers and no emphasis on imparting any education. That leaves the market open for unscrupulous people to set up institutions with poor infrastructure, high fees and scant respect for teachers. They are in the “business” of education and have no concept of good faculty and good teaching showing the commercialization in fashion. Their primary aim is to reap financial benefits from these institutions and to gain clout which money itself was insufficient to buy. They have managed to change the dynamics of the whole education sector. Even within these institutes, the quality of students and of the faculty leaves a lot to be desired. The students mostly comprise children of the neo-affluent and the faculty are hired and fired at the whims of the promoter. This is epitome of teaching commercialization. This fails to create a healthy environment for education. Despite this, these institutes continue to flourish as they have their own target audience.

It is not as if though there are no good institutions for education in India. The IITs, the IIMs, AIIMS and a host of other Indian institutions stand as testimony to the great tradition of global standards of Indian institutes. How can the commercialization be curbed? It is imperative that the government puts a check on the mushrooming of sub-standard institutes and continues to open such world class educational institutes. Private players should also be monitored more effectively regulating commercialization and sticking around non-profit nature so that the quality of education is not compromised.

Lastly we have to revisit the running of educational institutes in India for the sake of stopping commercialization practices and promoting healthy society oriented learning imparting.

What it takes to college admission in USA?

Learn About the College Board and Better Understand College Admissions
One of the biggest and most well known non-profits in the US is the college board.  They are actually responsible for one being admitted to college or denied.  Today almost six thousand schools are members of the board.

Being a member of the college board has some huge advantages for a school.  One of these is that they will make sure that the entrance examinations at each school are comparable and not a problem.  This means that the tests are standardized so that they do not show favoritism to any one specific group of people.  They help all students to get the same chances as each other without having to argue or fight for it.

One thing that the college board does with these tests is sells them.  This means that they are charging the schools to keep the tests the same.  However even though they are charging for the tests most colleges really want to be able to say that they are a member so they choose to buy the tests.

The college board is located in New York and houses most of its major operations from that office.  In addition to selling the tests, they actually manage them.  Then there is the fact that they are continuously working to make the testing better for all types of students.

Most recently this has been done with special programs being put into place.  Some of these are geared towards those that are poor while others are geared towards different minority groups.  Each of them is set to help someone who might have otherwise been discriminated against to be able to have a fair shot at a college education.

Another huge advantage of the college board is that a student can use the information in a variety of countries.  This is a big advantage when one is to consider that most college examinations are not credible in countries other than the United States.

One such test that is done by the college board is the SAT.  This is a test that will basically score all of the basic abilities that one has.  The areas that they are tested in include history, mathematics, and science.  There is a set time limit of just less than four hours.  While the SAT does cost money to take there are some free tests that one can look into like the PSAT.

So when it comes to getting into college, one can easily see how the college board and understanding the basics about them will help them to be more successful.
